Development Bank of the Philippines

In 2015, the Development Bank of the Philippines launched a loan targeted at women entrepreneurs, called the Inclusive Lending for Aspiring Women Entrepreneurs (ILAW). The Development Bank worked with the Women’s Business Council of the Philippines (Womenbizph) to develop the loan product; a Memorandum of Agreement was signed between the two groups to promote this opportunity to access finance to women in business. Qualified borrowers must be sole proprietorships, partnerships and corporations that are women-led. The loan size ranges from P300,000 to P10Million and more for SMEs. Collateral requirements are flexible, and the Bank reviews business cash flows and other mitigating measures to determine credit worthiness.
